ABOUT KAREN

Karen Saliba is a psychoanalyst who has worked in Private Practice for the past 30 years. Her primary focus has been working with adults who are experiencing difficulty managing their own emotions or coping with their current relationships, be it with their spouse/partner, child, family member, friend, or co-worker. Karen also works with couples who are struggling to overcome barriers to intimacy in order to gain a better understanding of one another. At the core of her approach is exploring the crucial early emotional attachments that inform and affect us throughout our personal journey.

  • Undergraduate studies in child development at UC Santa Barbara and Cal State Los Angeles
  • Received a Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California
  • Licensed in California as an MFT
  • Additional training at the Newport Psychoanalytic Institute in Orange County
  • Became a psychoanalyst in 1995 and a training and supervising analyst in 2000
  • Received her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D) from Newport Psychoanalytic Institute in 2009
